What makes the Lakes around Kendenup so special ?

Join in a fun and educational day with waterway ecologists Geraldine and Steve Janicke carrying out a macro-invertebrate and associated biological survey of Lake Matilda and Lake Meenulup near Kendenup, near Mt Barker. This Green Skills’ Citizen Science survey event aims to provide further clues about what makes these lakes a great haven for birds. The Kendenup Primary School will also be involved during the afternoon.

Meet at the Lake Matilda Bird Hide by 9.30am. The track into Lake Matilda’s Bird Hide is on the right hand (eastern side) , adjacent to the Albany Highway 24.5 km north of Mt Barker. Watch out for the sign on Albany Highway, 6.5 km north of Kendenup turnoff/ Martagallup Road junction.

Free, all welcome. Bring wellies/shoes that can get wet, sun/insect protection, water/packed lunch, binoculars, camera.
