What is the “Not Waste Festival” all about?
Celebrating the creative and practical reuse, repair and upcycle of items destined for landfill. Focusing on reducing waste on a community level, through discussion, experience and demonstration.
What is this year’s theme?
The 2020 Not Waste Festivals theme is Beyond Plastic. We will be exploring ways to remove reduce and reuse plastic in our lives.
When is the next “Not Waste Festival”?
The next Not Waste Festival will be held in Denmark and Albany between the 27th March and the 5th of April.
The exhibition Launch and Upcycled Fashion Parade (27th March, Denmark CRC).
The Not Waste Beyond Plastic Exhibition (27th March till 5th April, Denmark CRC).
The annual Not Waste Discussion Panel (28th March 2020, Denmark Arts).
Not Waste Makers Day (28th March, Denmark CRC carpark).
Food as Art launch and exhibition (1st – 4th April, Vancouver Arts).
Two local contemporary dancers Nari Lees and Symantha Parr exploring plastic waste through dance (4th April, infron of Denmark CRC).

What happened to “Art Not Waste”?
Art Not Waste has been so popular that we decided to expand it to include reuse, repair, upcycling and really anything that helps divert and/or reduce landfill. Not Waste Festival is about more involvement from the community, with all kinds of workshops leading up to and during the event.

Yes ! There are activities for all ages at the event.
Dose it cost anything?
Some things do, some things don’t. There are some ticketed events but no tickets are for sale yet soon we will have more details on this.
