How to DIY Beeswax Wraps – The Ironing Method

For those participants who have been asking, here it is:

THE BEESWAX WRAP RECIPE – method updated 17/09/18.

You need 3 main ingredients: beeswax, powdered pine resin, and coconut or jojoba oil.

Once upon a time, we would sprinkle all the ingredients one by one and iron onto the fabric. But we found the stickyness just didn’t last very long.

Then, we discovered premix moulds – so much better!

  1. Lay your fabric on a sheet of baking paper.
  2. Grate your premixed mould of beeswax/resin/oil and sprinkle on fabric – as if topping cheese on a pizza. Place baking paper, and iron until all melted. Look out for any dry patches that need extra beeswax, and top up. Make sure the fabric is completely coated with beeswax.
  3. Pick up your fabric, holding just the top corners, and air dry by waving it around.

And that’s it!
