For those participants who have been asking, here it is:
THE BEESWAX WRAP RECIPE – method updated 17/09/18.
You need 3 main ingredients: beeswax, powdered pine resin, and coconut or jojoba oil.
Once upon a time, we would sprinkle all the ingredients one by one and iron onto the fabric. But we found the stickyness just didn’t last very long.
Then, we discovered premix moulds – so much better!
- Lay your fabric on a sheet of baking paper.
- Grate your premixed mould of beeswax/resin/oil and sprinkle on fabric – as if topping cheese on a pizza. Place baking paper, and iron until all melted. Look out for any dry patches that need extra beeswax, and top up. Make sure the fabric is completely coated with beeswax.
- Pick up your fabric, holding just the top corners, and air dry by waving it around.
And that’s it!
