
We’re delighted to share that Green Skills Inc founder Dr. Louise Duxbury won Conservation Council of WA‘s 2025 Bessie Rischbieth Conservation Award.
This prestigious award is presented each year to an individual who has demonstrated an outstanding commitment to the WA environment, and who has had the courage to challenge government and non-government decision makers.
For over 40 years Louise Duxbury has inspired and enabled environmental sustainability in Western Australia and beyond. Through multiple roles as a sustainability practitioner and facilitator in leadership development she has contributed to major behavioural changes and regional outcomes. Louise’s depth of practical and research experience in project development, facilitation, education and communications has been in the service of environmental sustainability. She is a collaborative leader who has helped to develop teams and leadership within the not-for-profit and business sectors and empower agencies to maximise their positive impact. She has a PhD in sustainability and technology policy, and long experience in directing and managing landcare, farm forestry, watercare, bushcare, sustainable farming, revegetation, environmental protection and research projects in Western Australia.
In her acceptance speech, Louise acknowledged and thanked others that “care deeply about community and care deeply about environment”, First Nations women, Elders and, her mother Pat.
