Green Skills Inc staff Rosie Smith, Aaron Banks and Dylan Lehmann were out and about at Montgomery’s Hill vineyard near Albany last week, giving a large stand of Sydney golden wattle some much-needed chainsaw therapy. Ably assisted by the vineyard’s new owner and his family, the team worked hard to clear a wattle infestation threatening remnant bushland on the property. Getting on top of this infestation is especially important as the vineyard is situated next to high conservation value vegetation in Bakers Junction nature reserve and along the Kalgan river. Top marks to the vineyard owners for taking the initiative to control Albany’s worst weed!
This was the last on-ground wattle control work for 2017, there will be plenty more busy bees and general wattle-bashing continuing in the new year.
