Merry Tipmass and a Landfill Free Year

Merry Tipmass and a Landfill Free Year

Yes it’s a crazy time of the year for Denmark Tip Shop stuff coming both in and out by the trailer load. You would be crazy to miss out! Or would you . Before you buy new stuff and bring the old to the Tip Shop ask yourself why you are getting rid of it, can it be repaired, can i use it for some unexpected use!

By the end of summer you could develop an amazing new set of skills. Some one out there has already repaired or re-purposed that thing you are getting rid of. All you need to do if the ideas are not within you is get out there and look. It’s also a lot of fun. If you repair or re-purpose something amazing send me photo’s and i will put them up on the Tip Shop Blog.

Send Photo’s to [email protected]

Not Waste Festival 2019 applications open now!

Art Not waste has been a wonderful project with such awesome community support and amazing art works. So we decided why stop there! We are putting on a three day festival with workshops , performances and exhibitions. We dropped the word art to broaden the scope to all forms of waste diversion and reduction. We know there are so many great lateral thinkers out there and we want you to be a part of this festival. Junk musicians, tinkerers, up-cyclers, clothing rescuers, re-cyclers basically anyone who is passionate about the reduction and diversion of landfill. We want to here from you. get in early as places will fill up.

Denmark Upcycle Collective (FYI DIY)

To help Denmark Tip Shop in the diversion of materials destined for landfill the Denmark Upcycle Collective is rescuing materials from the Tip Shops waste stream. At present the Collective is working only with waste clothing as a continuation of the Sew Cool Project but aims to extend to all areas of rescue-able materials.

You can, for a small fee, become a member of the collective. This gives you access to over-lockers, sewing machines, materials and even to sell your work as a part of the collective! And yes its a lot of fun!
